The 2009 Memorial

Every year, the fire service family gathers together at Sacramento's Capitol Park to honor our fallen brothers and sisters, whose names have been added to the Memorial Wall.

This year's California Firefighters Memorial Ceremony will commemorate 82 individuals who paid the ultimate price to keep our state safe. The annual Memorial Ceremony honors firefighters who died in the line of duty, either from traumatic injuries in the field or from job-related causes.

CALIFORNIA FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL CEREMONY


DATE: Saturday, October 17, 2009

TIME: Ceremony Begins at 11:30am

LOCATION: California Firefighters Memorial, Capitol Park, State Capitol, Sacramento

PROCESSION INFORMATION


The Uniformed Firefighter Procession will step off from the South Steps of the State Capitol. The  procession is for uniformed firefighters only -- family members, friends and dignitaries are asked to stage at the Memorial site.

Uniformed firefighters wishing to participate in the ceremony are asked to arrive at the South Steps of the Capitol NO LATER THAN 11:00AM! Specific procession instructions are to be provided on site. Breakfast burritos will be served. 

All California fire department honor guards and pipe and drum bands are also invited to participate in the ceremony. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS.
