Mark Howell

Mark Howell grew up in Pinole, Calif. and served that same fire department for over 30 years; the last 17 as a captain. After hearing New York's Emerald Society, Howell was inspired to learn to play the bagpipes. In 2002, Howell was accepted into the Pipes and Drums of California Professional Firefighters. Howell feels it is an honor to play for the families of fallen brothers and sisters and considers his experience in the band one of his most memorable in the fire service.

Married with two children, Howell enjoys fly fishing, duck hunting and traveling with his family.
