Ventura County Professional Firefighters Local 1364 is saddened to announce the passing of Fire Engineer Ryan Osler, 38, who was killed this morning while responding to the Canyon Fire on Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Osler was traveling in a water tender tanker when the vehicle crashed, rolling over several times. During the crash, Osler sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Engineer Osler began his career with the Ventura County Fire Department in 1998. He leaves behind his wife, Jen, and his two children, Amanda and Brandon.
A memorial for Engineer Osler will be held on Monday, October 3rd at 11:00am. The service will be held at Calvary Community Church, located at 5495 Via Rocas in Westlake Village, Calif.
On behalf of the Ventura County Fire Department, fire agencies and dignitaries are invited to attend the memorial service. To ensure VIP seating and parking, dignitaries and agency representatives must RSVP at www.vcfdmemorial.org no later than noon on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Parking and seating is limited.
