On October 9, 2017, firefighters began battling multiple devastating wildfires across the Napa and Sonoma region. Unfortunately, the tragic North Bay Fires have become the deadliest fire incident in state history, with dozens of lives lost, hundreds of thousands of acres burned, and thousands of homes destroyed.

INFORMATION ON DONATING PRODUCT/ARTICLES OF CLOTHING:
The California Fire Foundation does not accept any product/clothing donations for fire victims. For more information on donating items/products to those impacted by wildfires and organizations that accept them, please visit San Francisco Chronicle’s Resource Guide.
If you are giving product/clothing donations to an organization, we recommend that you follow these thoughtful giving guidelines:
- Give only items that have been specifically requested. Ask shelters/food banks what donations they specifically need.
- For disaster victims, please give new and unopened items only.
- Be aware that disaster relief efforts are quickly changing and information does not update quickly.
- Money is always appreciated.
INFORMATION ON FINANCIAL DONATIONS:
As many as 40 firefighters are believed to have lost their homes. Many of those who have lost homes were out on the lines doing their duty. Other have lost family members. Local California Professional Firefighters (CPF) affiliates have come together to form an official fundraising site to aid those firefighters whose lives have been uprooted by the disaster.
Proceeds from the Bay Area Firefighters and Families Fund will be equally allocated between all affected firefighters. 100% of the funds go to our firefighters.
You can also donate to International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Disaster Relief Fund, which provides immediate financial assistance to firefighters and their families who have experienced losses of their own.
As part of the California Fire Foundation’s mission to provide victim assistance, it’s Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency (SAVE) program provides emergency short-term financial assistance to fire and natural disaster victims in California year-round. The California Fire Foundation is mobilizing direct assistance to those who’ve suffered catastrophic losses from the North Bay Firestorm. Through SAVE, CPF local affiliates and their fire departments are on site in Santa Rosa and Napa with hundreds of SAVE gift cards to aid anyone who has lost or incurred significant damage to their place of residence.
