Brian Hughes’ 15-year career began in Colorado as a wildland firefighter. He went on to join the Midnight Sun Hotshots, the Roosevelt Hotshots, the Monterey Hand Crew and the Bureau of Land Management in Alaska. Brian was a trusted leader and mentor who led by example, inspiring others to train hard and develop their skills. He loved the camaraderie of the team and drove himself to contribute as much as he could to the group. Brian loved to spend time with his family and friends. Brian died in the line of duty battling the Ferguson Fire.
