Bravery was a hallmark of Chris Johnson’s life. He exuded bravery, not only on the job, but in the way that he confronted his lengthy battle with leukemia, which took his life at the age of 32. He began his career as a seasonal firefighter in 1997, working in Squaw Valley. He was promoted to Fire Apparatus Engineer in 2004 and worked out of CAL FIRE’s Fresno-Kings Unit. He will be remembered as dependable, trustworthy and spiritual by his firefighter family. He leaves behind his wife Rebecca and 3-year-old son, CJ.
