John Patrick Cronin had always wanted to be a firefighter and started his firefighting career with Cal Fire in Mariposa County. He was a volunteer firefighter in his hometown of Fairfax, California before joining the Redwood City Fire Department where he spent 30 years helping those in his community and mentoring new paramedics as they began their career. Outside of work, John loved playing on many softball teams and spending time with his grandchildren. John passed away from a job-related illness.
