Tamara Thatcher began her career in the fire service in 1988 and served the citizens of Sacramento with honor and distinction for over 30 years.  Over the span of her career, Tamara was a training drill instructor, Captain, emergency medical technician, mentor for aspiring female firefighters and led Sacramento Fire Department’s Behavioral Health Unit.  Tamara excelled in all sports but especially loved basketball, golfing, water sports, music, horses, and above all else the ocean.  She passed away from job-related cancer in November, 2019.
