LODD: Cal OES Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Ken Hood

Cal OES is saddened to announce the passing of one of their own in the line of duty.

Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief, Ken Hood, passed away on October 24, 2018, succumbing to an acute medical emergency during a multi-agency coordination meeting in Quincy, CA.

Assistant Chief Ken Hood had an extensive career in public service with 34 years in the fire service. He joined the Cal OES Fire and Rescue Branch in July 2014 and was assigned to Mutual Aid Region III.

He was a valued member of Cal OES and served with honor and distinction.  He is survived by his wife Michele, and extended family.

Memorial Information

Funeral services for Assistant Chief Hood will be held on Friday, November 9th at 11am at Rolling Hills Church in El Dorado Hills, CA.

Honor Guard and Apparatus Information
