James “Jamie” Byrnes began his career as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Larkspur Fire Department and dedicated 32 years of his life to the fire service, including 20 years with the Marin County Fire Department. Jamie’s service as a Firefighter and Fire Engineer left an indelible mark on his colleagues and community. He was a devoted labor leader with the Marin Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 1775, and held numerous positions, including Vice President. His passion for union work and dedication to his fellow firefighters made him a cherished and valued member of the firefighting family. He is survived by his beloved son, Ryan. His memory will forever live in the hearts of those he served, served with, and loved.
