Ulysses Duran grew up in East LA City Terrace. He served the people of Los Angeles County with honor and distinction for 23 years. After graduating from high school, Ulysses and his younger brother joined the U.S. Army together. Ulysses served as an active-duty soldier for three years. He rose to the rank of E-5 Sergeant, earning his Airborne Wings and the coveted Ranger Tab. He then re-enlisted for five years in the Army National Guard. In 2001, Ulysses joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Ulysses lived an impactful life, greatly loved by his family and friends. He is especially missed by his greatest loves – his wife Monica and his children, Rebecca, Lisa, and Ulysses.
