Brian Yutaka Kyono joined the San Francisco Fire Department in 1993 and served for 29 years as a Lieutenant Firefighter and Chief’s Operator. His dedication to the department earned him numerous accolades: Outstanding Firefighter in the Line of Duty, Outstanding Firefighter Service, First Responder’s Award, and Firefighter of the Year. He volunteered for the Asian Firefighters Association, Chinese New Year Parade, Cherry Blossom Festivals, SFFD Toy Program, Dragon Boat Festival, George Peabody Elementary School, SFFD FLAME Fishing Program, and cooking for community church events. Brian will be remembered for his loving smile, his passionate dedication to the San Francisco community, and his kindness and generosity to all. He is survived by his wife, Donna, and their children, Allison, Brandon, Kevin, and Tyler.
